There has been a church building on this site of the Parish Church of St Andrew and St Mary since the 13th century, and probably much earlier. However the dedication to St Andrew and St Mary dates from around the beginning of the 19th century.

Even for people who don't worship there, the church is a very interesting place to visit, not only because of its architecture and items of historical interest, but also to take advantage of the peace and tranquillity that it offers. The church is often floodlit and makes a very welcoming site for those entering the village at night.

Church services are held as follows.

First Sunday of the Month:

0800

Holy Communion (said)

Book of Common Prayer

0930

Family Service

An informal service for all ages.

All other Sundays: 0930, Holy Communion (sung).

In term-time there is a children's group during the service. If there is a fifth Sunday in the month, there is just one service for the whole Benefice (details of which are published in the Parish News (-link-).

Fourth Wednesday of the month: 1000 Holy Communion (said).

Special Services

Special services are held at various times throughout the year, e.g. Christingle Service in Advent, the Carol and Gift Service before Christmas, Midnight-Communion on Christmas Eve and the Family Service on Christmas morning, as well as extra services for Holy Week and Easter.

The church also supports the ecumenical organization 'Churches Serving Watton' in united services in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Women's World Day of Prayer, Songs of Praise services, the open air Community Service in July, the School-leavers Service, Remembrance Sunday, and the Crib Service on Christmas Eve.
