Towns
Watton-at-Stone is within easy reach of the towns of Hertford, Ware ,Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage.
- Hertford and Ware are well-established market towns and offer a mixture of traditional and major retail outlets. Both towns have swimming pools and sports and leisure facilities, together with a good range of pubs, restaurants and clubs.
Hertford has 2 railway stations, namely, Hertford North and Hertford East. Hertford North gives access to services to London (Moorgate/Kings Cross) and to the East Coast mainline to the North at Stevenage. Whereas Hertford East provides services to London (Liverpool Street) and Cambridge. Ware has a single railway station and is on the same line as Hertford East.
Hertford has an out-patient hospital. - Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage are 'new towns' and as such boast modern shopping centres and offer a wide range of entertainment venues, sports and leisure facilities together with numerous pubs and restaurants.
Each town has its own large hospital, with A&E Departments.
Both towns are very close to the A1(M) and are served by the East Coast mainline railway which gives easy access to services to London and the North.
